At The Message Centre, we offer a Smart Messenger service to our clients that uses a single messaging point. This means the operator who handles any incoming calls for your business will deliver all messages to one point of contact - usually the business owner.

When a customer calls your business, our operator will answer in a format agreed upon with you, using your business name. Our operator will then take a message and send it directly to you via SMS or email. Clients can also access their messages at any time through our unique online portal.

How Smart Messenger works


Standard Smart Messenger script

  • Operator: “Thank you for calling [your business name], this is Joanne speaking, how may I help you?”
  • Caller: “Hello Joanne, would I please be able to speak to John?”
  • Operator: “Unfortunately, John isn’t available at the moment. Can I take a message and ask him to return your call as soon as possible?”
  • Caller: “Yes please, that would be perfect.”
  • The operator will then ask for the caller's name and contact number, and will record a description of the caller’s enquiry.

*Messages will be sent on the spot via SMS and/or email.
